U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will deliver remarks at The Washington Post Grand Opening Event at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, at The Washington Post’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. In his remarks, Secretary Kerry will speak to journalist safety and freedom of the press. Other speakers include The Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, and Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. The event will be open press. All media must RSVP to postpr@washpost.com no later than 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27. Secretary Kerry’s remarks will be streamed live on www.state.gov. Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
