Negative inflation for 17th month, at -0.85% in March
The Reserve Bank mainly looks at retail inflation data while firming up its monetary policy stance. Retail inflation in March fell to a six-month low of 4.83 per cent. RBI earlier this month cut the key policy rate by 0.25 per cent and projected retail inflation to be around 5 per cent this fiscal.

RBI likely to go for 25 bps rate cut on Aug 9: Report
Earlier this month, RBI reduced its policy rate by 0.25 per cent to 6.5 per cent -- its lowest level in more than five years. While this was the first rate cut after a gap of six months, RBI has lowered its rate by 1.5 per cent cumulatively since January 2015.

Banks to share transaction details in standard format
The issue was first raised by the CBI which found that while investigating an offence, banks were providing information in different formats making probe rather difficult. A meeting was then called by Central Economic Intelligence Bureau and a commonly acceptable format was designed.
