U.S. Immigrant Visa Information Available in Spanish

Media Note
Office of the Spokesperson
Washington, DC
September 25, 2015

Immigrant visa information on the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) website, travel.state.gov, is now available in Spanish.

The decision to translate online immigrant visa information into Spanish supports CA’s efforts to improve customer service and operations. In 2014, the Department of State issued 467,370 immigrant visas at U.S. embassies and consulates abroad. We issued more than 147,000 of those visas to applicants in countries where Spanish is either the official or national language. Comprehensive Spanish translations of our immigrant visa content will provide meaningful access to the immigrant visa process for our Spanish-speaking customers.

For Spanish language information about how to apply for an immigrant visa to the United States, please visit travel.state.gov. The National Visa Center (NVC) offers Spanish-language telephone assistance to immigrant visa applicants calling the NVC’s public inquiry phone line at (603) 334-0700.

For press inquiries, please contact CAPRESSREQUESTS@STATE.GOV.
