Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom David Saperstein and Acting Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Arsalan Suleman are in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from June 3-5. They are participatinge in the 5th Istanbul Process meeting to implement United Nations Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18 on “Combating Intolerance, Negative Stereotyping and Stigmatization of, and Discrimination, Incitement to Violence and Violence Against, Persons Based on Religion or Belief.” Hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss the effective implementation of Resolution 16/18 by building on existing initiatives and identifying new collaborative opportunities. AAL Saperstein and Acting Special Envoy Suleman will address the gathering and meet with a number of participants on the margins of the meeting. Follow Ambassador Saperstein on Twitter.
