Pastor busted in Kesha

By CHARLES NGENO

A pastor from Mulot, Bomet County, is nursing serious injuries after his wife attacked him for having a kesha (night prayer meeting) in a widow's house.

The pastor, who is now the talk of the village, is rumoured to have been having a thing with the widow, behind his wife's back.

On several occasions, the man of God is said to have left his home after supper, claiming to be headed for keshas in neighbouring villages, where he would pray for people. This mostly happened on Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Shocking

His wife's attempts to accompany him bore no fruit, as he insisted that she needed to remain behind and take care of the children.

This adamant behaviour led her to seek advice from other women, and what they told her was shocking, if not unbelievable.

Several women told her it was public knowledge that her husband was not going for any night prayer meetings. Instead, he had made it a habit to spend the night at the home of a departed pastor.

Not being a rash woman, the pastor's wife sought the intervention of church elders, who summoned her husband for interrogation.

What the elders heard was hilarious, if not absurd: The pastor  said God, in response to his prayers, had asked him to 'assist' his late colleague's wife. He dismissed the church leaders, saying he would rather follow God's command than listen to good-for-nothing elders.

When this news reached his wife, she decided to bide her time.

One Tuesday, she made sure that supper was a bit late. After he had eaten, the man left his home with a Bible as usual, and headed for the next village, unaware that his wife was following him.

He went straight to the widow's house and, as if walking into his house, pushed the door open then locked it from inside. His wife decided to wait for the long haul.

What she heard, she later revealed to her friends, was beyond her. Her husband's robust performance was no comparison to his lackluster performance at home. This infuriated her even more.

At around midnight, the man went out for a short call, and his wife grabbed that chance to jump on his back and wring his neck, before picking up a piece of firewood and whacking him hard. Scared, the pastor ran towards his home, leaving his clothes and shoes behind.

His attacker ran after him, and as he entered his compound, his attacker still in pursuit, he turned to fight, only to realise the assailant was his wife.

"So that is where you have been going for keshas all this time? You liar! Pretender!" she screamed.

Full of shame, the man apologised and promised to change.

When news of his amorous behaviour reached a nearby school where he had been ministering, the school management terminated his services forthwith.
