The Centre has approved the proposal for a single entrance exam for engineering and architecture at the undergraduate level from 2018, on the lines of the national eligibility and entrance test for medical colleges.

India's industrial output contracts 0.4% y/y in Dec
The factory output had risen by 5.7% in Nov, 2016. Earlier, it encountered a (-)0.9% slide in the corresponding month of the previous year. As per the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data released by the CSO, the contraction was mainly on account of a 2% decline in manufacturing output.
