[wanabidii] Mps should adress the issue of Economic growth,Period!

We import fertilizer every year for our farming. Rain is in plenty for short and long seasons, and our farmers use both traditional and modern methods in tilling the farms. How much food do we export to reap the returns!

we have not really prioritised farming to realise and or actualise its full potential,we keep fragmenting land in the end we get diminishing returns in what we grow, fertilizers however
are beyond the reach of majority poor - we do not export maize since we are a consumer nation, that is the sad part of it.

Good (finished products) like fruit and wine from Malawi and south Africa have markets in the USA competing with global markets but Kenyan produce is not getting any chance whatsoever. It is up to leaders to see that they negotiate for Kenya's produce in a focused manner to get into foreign markets that matter.

Mechanized farming can attract foreign investors which may also help open foreign markets for our produce. Brazilian coffee is sold by its name but Kenya's coffee and tea have no recognition at all. Something is wrong on how we market local produce.

For how are we going to mantain our National workforce, buy laptops for standard 1 pupils and mantain thereafter, have our mothers get free maternity services and perhaps give youths money in sacks as Museveni of Uganda did the other day and possibly contain the fire breating Mps etc!

Our leaders and Mps in particular should settle down with their victory, establish various committees and not only make laws but interogate the Jubilee Manifesto as a National tool with items for implementation realistically for instance have school facilities and teachers entitlements in place that laptops for kids. Computer Labs in every school and community libraries be established so as to realize the digital dream than rush to it when there are no classrooms for the same kids.

We should look at sustainable programmes to impliment and have marketing and adverts that make meaning out there so as to attract foreign investors as opposed to importing everything - how shall we grow our economy!
