This is just your blind observation because China is not Buddhist. Initially the Chinese had their own religions including Confucianism, Taoism and others and the Ancestor worship that goes on till today. When you say China never invaded other places, I wonder where your History has gone here. Who are the majority of Business communities in south east Asia? If you answer that Question I will discuss more. Find this book and read it then we can talk more, Zhang, L.,Nathan, A.J & Link. P(2001) Tiananmen Papers which will give you a glimpse of how the Chinese leadership decided to use force against their own people.

There have been so many wars in the last few hundreds of years coming to the present day. But I have not commonly heard of Chinese invading other places. Doesn't China have the bulk of the Budhists? Before I respond to this in detail please would qualify what you mean by peace? I live in where 95% are Buddhists and I have whole sack of information about the religion because even outside my house there is a shrine and at the gate of the University where I teach there is a Buddha image at the Gate. In my department and Faculty I am the only Christian all are Buddhists. Please qualify the word peace then I will tell you whether I see it or not.
