Take the case of Kibaki in 2007. He wins an area but his party flops in other areas. This is because at 50-60%, you have 3 or more parties splitting votes and so the other party with 40-50 wins. Matiba should have taught them a lesson in 2002 in voting 3 piece and so other fridge parties lost everything.

Wanjiru could have done very well. Get the Kikuyu votes, then Luo, Luhyia and Kamba votes plus those votes from those who like Raila. That could have caused problems even for Sonko since all votes would be in one basket under Cord. Now the 2007 may see a reversal in favor of TNA because URP and Narc are not fronting big wigs in the city. So all votes going to Uhuru goes to Sonko-Waititu-Shebesh while in Cord, Rao votes gets split by akina Omtatah-Wanjiru- and whoever may be fronted by Jirongo. Same applies to Kisia-Kidero. ODM/Cord need to also realize that Livondo and others fronted by MM may also eat from their side so that OOO and Livondo may be splitting the Luhyia vote further. So if Sonko got 40%, he could easily win.
