[wanabidii] The Langata Clean-up Campaign; 12th Jan 2013

Friends,

On the 12th January 2013, we will be on our 2nd leg of The Kenyans for a Clean General Election Campaign when we will be hosting a Clean-up cum Voter Education Campaign at the Undugu Grounds in Kibera.

We will converge at the Chief's Office at Highrise- off Mbagathi Road and just opposite the Riara University at 7.00am where the one hour Clean-up Exercise will be flagged off. We will then clean towards the Kibera Soweto East Resource Centre and end up with a Consultative Forum at the Undugu Society Hall.

To help plan for this event, we hosted a meeting with the Committee Members of Kibera Laini Saba Youth Chapter under the Chairmanship of Fred this morning before touring the area and meeting several leaders.

We later paid a Courtesy Call on the DO Laini Saba Mr. Hesbon Kayesi at his offices. He was with Chief Patrick Adira while I was accompanied by Fred and Irene from the KDI.

All the political aspirants are invited to join with us, and as a sign of being One Family under God, we are inviting each of the Aspirants to buy for us one crate of sodas for the 500 volunteers who will join with us.

To all other Friends of The Clean Kenya Campaign, we are inviting your support to help us with the following;

  1. Buying Rakes and Spades
  2. Communication and Mobilization
  3. General planning logistics

The IEBC Nairobi Team led by Ms Bilhah Kiptugen- The Regional Coordinator, the Provincial Administration led by Mr. Kayesi- DO Laini Saba and the City Council of Nairobi Environment Team led by the Director of Environment will also join with us for this transformative event.

The Council have confirmed that they will avail a Garbage Truck and Working Tools at the Chief'e office at exactly 7.00am on Saturday the 12th Jan 2013.

Lastly, we are happy that our Sisters and Brothers from the Media have been part of this Campaign and a number have confirmed their attendance. We all want to play our part to a Peaceful and Clean Election as we invite all the 14.3 Million registered voters to turn out in large numbers on the 4th March 2013 and exercise their democratic rights. Let us show the world that shortly we will be turning 50.

Let us all work for a Clean Kenya, a Clean Africa and a Clean General Election as a Transformative Deliverable as we turn 50 in Kenya.
