Folks, The truth is, signs of what happened in 2007/8 are clearly evident and chances that the election will be free and fair when people are being murdered left right and centre; high level of corruption and impunity, threats and fears is common place all around with instability and insecurity soaring in high places at every side and corner of the country while organized gangs have taken authority and doing whatever they pleases.......are such case-scenario which have become sore in many people's eyes. It is therefore feared that the election will not be free and fair before those who committed the astrocities and murder, the people who had vested interest in taking control of leadership of Kenya and who financed the Mafia type of the organized killings, are already repeating the same type of event that took place during 2007/8 and this time, it is feared it shall be worse than before. Koffi Annan and CJ Willy Mugunga is Kenya's only hope.......if suspects of corruption, graft and impunity; including those who already have cases at the ICC Hague should not be allowed by our Courts to participate in the Election Process......and that all must go through the vetting threshold process to ascertain there are clean candidates cleared from blame are to vie for public offices. Photo|WILLIAM OERI By BERNARD NAMUNANE (bnamunane@ke.nationmedia.com) Posted Thursday, October 11 2012 at 16:03 Former UN secretary general Kofi Annan has said that an Uhuru Kenyatta or William Ruto presidency may have implications for Kenya's foreign relations, even though their suitability can only be determined by the courts. Mr Kenyatta, who serves as a Deputy Prime Minister in the grand coalition government and Mr Ruto, the Eldoret North MP, have cases pending at the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague for their alleged roles during the chaos the rocked the Kenya during the last presidential election in 2007. Mr Annan led the international mediation effort the resulted in the 2007 rivals, Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga, setting up a joint government with the former as President and the latter as Prime Minister. The former UN chief and his co-mediator, former Tanzanian president Benjamin Mkapa, have been in Nairobi since Tuesday to follow up on progress of the implementation of key agreements ahead of the next General election in March 4, 2013. He made the remarks in response to questions from journalists, who sought his view on the duo's suitability for office of president. "The question came up in our meetings with various groups but the issue is before the courts. However, there are implications of being in power and leadership of a country locally, within the country and relationship with other countries," he said at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi. "We were informed that there is a case in court so we cannot make any statement on it. The ruling will be made and we hope it will lead to peaceful elections," he said. Mr Mkapa expressed hope that the courts will make a decision which will contribute to peaceful elections on March 4, 2013.
