[wanabidii] Re: Teacher's Strike in Kenya

Are the teachers employed by BoG also on strike!

Their pay is as much as Ksh.8,000/- per month. KNUT/KUPPET are fighting for those that are employed by the Government, who will fight for the BoG Employed teachers!

Mark,

For the teachers to get their pay increase, the Ministry of Education
and Finance have to bring motions before parliament to ask for that.
They have not. The 2 ministries are in the hands of the PNU wing of
government. Therefore please do not blame the 2 principals. Blame
Kibaki and PNU. He's the President and has the last word on these
things.  don't you remember when Raila suspended Ruto and Ongeri and
Kibaki rescinded that suspension? Do you also remember when the
government was dismantling some houses in Kibera and Raila intervened
to stop it but the police refused to obey his orders? He even went to
Kibaki to request a stop but he was shown the door?

Kibaki is the one with real power so he should also shoulder the responsibility.

Courage
