[wanabidii] Fwd: {GIS} Fake Organizations Advertizing for "Vacancies" on the Web

Camilla,

Thank for enlightening us! i fell victim of this after i applied  for a job in one of the organizations you named below.I was actually happy after i received an email stating that i was pre shortlisted and i needed to do some CAT and email them the results. to proceed to the next stage. the website they suggested for the test were Tumda and Dario HR. I was torn in-between doing the test or not, i asked myself why a big organization will send me to take a test elsewhere when i perfectly know they are supposed to offer it themselves?……The salary they were offering was way up than what i had imagined for a fresh grad like me! Again i thought,i may pay the Kshs 9,500 for the test then end up not getting the job! So i opted not to pay any cash to this employer as u have stated!!!!!

Hi all!
This is just to alert you and to beseech you to alert your friends and family about one of the latest strategies some con-men/con-women are now using to get money from innocent jobseekers.

First of all, they will put up announcements of "vacancies" on common blogs and websites such as Kenyan Jobs Blogspot, Career Point or Brighter Monday and a few days later, respond to you via email to let you know that you've been "pre-shortlisted" to proceed further in the "selection" process. In that mail, they'll attach an "entry assessment form" supposedly for new staff joining their organization, instruct you to fill it honestly and accurately and return the same to them. However, while at that, they'll also demand for "scores" of your latest "Psychometric IPS test" or "Psychometric CAT" and at this juncture will suggest names of "consultants" near you and give you links that should lead you to other websites.
Example - Dopra International (www.dopra.net)
               - Tumda Online Certification (tumda.net)
               - Dario HR (www.dario.com)
               - QicHr Consultants (www.qichr.com)
To make it look more believable, they'll even give you the option of "selecting" other accredited IPS invigilators.
Now here is the catch - for you to proceed with the "recruitment" process, you must scan and email the score before a certain deadline and you must PAY for these "CATS"/"tests" through the details available at their boring websites (MPESA or bank account number). The cost of these "tests" is between KES6,500 and KES9,500. You will have the option of doing the "tests" either at their offices or online. To offer you the temptation of doing it online, they'll usually have their "offices" in some dead-end corner in Kitisuru or some lane behind the Embassy of Czechoslovakia or some other Eastern European country that cannot be easily located. DO NOT PAY THESE GOONS! In fact, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO A PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER. Not even for a medical test (though I have to admit that the conmen have gone a notch higher than before when thy were only demanding for KES300 for "medical tests" from innocent jobseekers).

These "vacancies" will usually be from organizations that go by the names such as Giving Hand Fund, Planet Action Fund, Global Fund Against Poverty....etc etc...you catch the drift? They opt for names of organizations that seem keen on achieving the Millennium Development Goals and will always have their "headquarters" in the UK, the US or Canada.....lol.... They even have their websites that will not even lead you to any physical address/location if in Nairobi.

Just alert your friends and family to be wary of vacancies posted on Kenyan Jobs Blogspot, Career Point or Brighter Monday and request for tests or CATS and stuff like that. A serious employer will invite you to their offices to conduct aptitude tests if need be. Be wary of these evil goons and stay safe.
