Re: Re: [wanabidii] Nigeria to assist Malawi’s oil survey in Lake Malawi -President Jonathan

Dear All,
Our country not violenting international rule, we have rights with lake Nyasa, those are documents to refer but according to what I heard from Malawi minister Mr. Chirwa, if am not wrong, who addressed the matter in arrogance way something could happen. I hope our leaders integrity will work to harmonize the situation.

Make sure any oil survey is conducted on the lake on part of Malawi territory and not otherwise!

President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria says his government would provide technical personnel to Malawi to help in the fuel-survey project on Lake Malawi, the country was undertaking.

President Jonathan was speaking to reporters at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe, Malawi, upon his arrival for a two-day State visit.

He was responding to a question one of the journalists posed to him as to whether or not he would offer some help to Malawi on technical basis, as the later was currently undertaking a n exploration on Lake Malawi to establish existence of oil deposits, to enhance economic standards.

Malawi started surveying on Lake Malawi a couple of months ago despite having border dispute with Tanzania.
"We will be delighted to provide Malawi with some technical help to drive their oil deposit survey.
"After all we are Africans; and as such I don't see any objection to resist helping our friends who would need our assistance such as the one you have mentioned," said Dr Jonathan.
On his State visit to Malawi he said he was convinced that it was important to keep good relationship with African states to enable the continent achieve sustainable development.
"I have come to Malawi today. In fact Malawi's head of State Her Excellency President Joyce Banda has visited my country twice this year.  The second time she came to my country she attended a forum for women that was initiated by my wife," said President Jonathan.
He said during his two-day visit to Malawi he would hold bilateral talks with President Banda to cement their relationship.
