Re: [wanabidii] Tanzania advancing 'selfish agenda' on Lake Malawi

Insightful discussion this is.
Let me put my ink to this conversation.I like the position that mainstream media has taken from the outset of this 'Malawi brouhaha'.Responsibly, our media has called for diplomacy to prevail. From a personal take,I think Malawi may have wanted to highlight its 'sovereighnty' on this matter, but I know fore that they are aware that Tanzania is a 'big brother' whose warfare muscle they can hardly match. And now that our leaders have been emphatic on not ruling out either option,am sure the core of Malawi's leadership has heard.Walifanya uhuni to sign that deal with the British exploration firm over rights on L.Nyasa, and they could thus not just 'disappear' at a time when the investor had started exploration. They would have appeared as a  'dishonest country towards investors'.(and you all know the sensitivities of investors). They therefore  decided to come up with all irresponsible statements to show the investor that they never hoodwinked him/her into a wrong deal yet they were still negotiating with Tanzania over the shared  natural resource.
Now that the puppy have attempted to bark(forgive my reference),am sure Tanzania wont go to war, instead,it will still play the  big brother role and still regain back what is hers...a half of L Nyasa....
Best,
Orton

Dear All,

When I read these arguments I tend to doubt on the legality of his upstairs
especially  a person like Dzonzi and a lawyer by profession. I can sense that is why Hon. Joy is making such decisions on taking instructions from people like cameron. A point in case is approving guys marriage in the midst of being a saved woman. Now they have instructed her to cross Tanzanian boarder, then she has been advised to be ready to die for Malawians. Unfortunately she has been surrounded by lawyers such as  Dzonzi what should we expect. Malawians be careful. You must understand none of us were there when Germans and British were making such nasty agreements. Now the British are misleading you that that belongs to you So do you want Tanzanians to call  back Germans to come and defend this?

Thanks Jesse,

Joyce Banda has already said that she want to die for her country - so let us help her. I know Mgamba, being a Kurya, he will enlist himself in the army if needed.

Joce Banda is a woman who gave orders for men to get married to other men - she wants Malawi men to be wives and I don't know what will women do ... and we are being bothered by her? Come on guys! This must be a big joke on earth. To start with, how can these married men fight anyway?

Mgamba and Matinyi!
It is true that war does not necessarily bring discipline in some situations, BUT at least you can do away with monsters like IDD AMIN, HITLER, MUSSOLIN and the like.
Mgamba don't you know that to deal with madman or woman is to give the right dose accordingly. Joyce Banda want to impress Malawian that she is the Iron Lady. She must very fast reminded that such ambitious dream has to be exercised with Malawi bourders any attempt to export her madness to Tanzania will face the due consequences, that is KIPIGO.
After all war is part of human life if you are to safeguard your dignity and respect.  We shall never sit back and let Malawian claim lake Nyasa is the property of Malawi. Tanzania siyo nchi ya mabwega kiasi hicho!
Matinyi I salute you, Joyce must understand this language.
Mgamba US and Israel are in war always, not because they are ignorant rather to safeguard their interests. Here lake Nyasa is our interest.

Matinyi,

You may have a good point but your conclusion is very outdated. You talk about invasion of another country, and restore or impose a sensible leadership? On whose interests anyway and who pays the bill for the so called invasion? How sure are you that after the invasion you will have a sensible leadership in Malawi that will listen to you?

You did it in Uganda, but still the leadership that you imposed failed, and it has to take another eight years of brutal gorilla war launched by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to bring Uganda in peace. All the men you chose to lead Uganda turned out to be hopeless.

But again in this 21st century, it's really appalling for an intellectual like you to advocate invasion of a foreign country as well as imposing the leadership of your choice. These were the brutal ideas of George Bush, Condoleeza Rice, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld—but they failed in Iraq as well as Afghanistan.

Mr. Banda,

Send this message to the newspaper and the reporter:

1. Tanzania got angry at this particular time for one reason: After Mutharika signed a deal last year with a British firm, nothing was done at that disputed area for one reson or the other. In December 2011 our governments agreed that Malawi should not conduct any business in that disputed area until the matter is resolved. But suddenly in July 2012 Malawi misbehaved. That is when Tanzania said - DON'T DO IT. If the whole nation of Malawi is so ignorant of this fact, even at this time, then we are dealing with a bunch of fools who deserve to be beaten.

2. It is not true that this conflict has been dormant for 50 years. Nyerere did his part but unfortunately he was a dealing with a madman Kamuzu Banda; then Mwinyi restored diplomatic ties; Mkapa made good progress with Muluzi; then Mutharika sign a deal with the British firm but very carefully, and now Joyce Banda is putting her country in trouble - please, keep that contract but don't touch our waters.

3. Other opinions that this conflict can be resolved diplomatically are not realistic because Malawi won't listen. ICJ does not enforce its decision; it only give a legal opinion, and leave everything to the partis to sort out. AU and SADC are merely diplomatic channels and no one can assure us that Malawi will respect them.

Conclusion:
Let us wait for every diplomatic and legal channel to take place, and then invade Malawi (because Lilongwe won't listen), kick out every stupid guy and restore a new sensible government. We did it in Uganda, why not in Malawi? After all Joyce Banda has already said that she is ready to die for her country - so let us help her.

Matinyi.
